Hey, listen to this. Singles are $107, doubles $117 for Friday and/or Sat. nights. Both
include breakfast and shuttle rides around Palo Alto. I teasingly asked her if they can
bring people to my house and she said 'sure.' They can transport people both ways, take
them to downtown Palo Alto, or other places. They don't do shuttles from the airport, but
Supershuttle is reasonable. They have a heated pool, exercise room, room have been updates
in the last 1 or 2 years. This sounds like the best place to stay.

Bonnie just found a great article with touring ideas on a small hotel's website. I
love this little B&B in a cute neighborhood. It is tiny, simple, in walking distance
to my house, priced at $80-$90 night. For the article written in the NY Times:

Things to See and Do around Stanford and Palo Alto
Hi, this is Bonnie writing. In my next life I will be a tour guide, so here goes with things of interest to do in this area. There are two outdoor museums at Stanford that are outstanding. One is the Rodin Sculpture Garden at the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford (also well worth seeing, and Jesse Cool (our caterer) has a very good little cafe at the Museum). My favorite place at Stanford is a New Guinea Outdoor Sculpture Garden. It is an amazing collection of ritualistic/spiritual totem poles and sculptured pieces of stone work, made on the premises by the local artists themselves who were brought here for 6 months, sponsored by the Archeology Dept. at Stanford. It is a block from Lake Loganita, which one can walk around in about 20 minutes. Stanford also has tours usually every day. If you've never seen the campus, it is probably one of the prettiest universities in the country.
In walking distance form my house is "The Dish," a 3 mile round-trip walk into the foothills, with views of SF and even Oakland, on a good day. East of here, is the Baylands, also a beautiful place for walking where you can sight many types of birds to include Pelicans. You can my walking bias coming through.... tell me your interests and I can give you more info.
Downtown Palo Alto is a quaint village with a myriad of restaurants, coffee shops, and art galleries dotted throughout town. For shoppers there is the Stanford Shopping Center, considered one of the finest in the country, also 5 minutes from my house. There are some small movie houses where good foreign films are often played, in addition of course to the larger movie theaters. Local theater groups Theater Works, and there could be some good plays being offered at that time. Sounding like a nice place to live? It really is!!!!
